Ok, so what exactly is this Powertex stuff?

I realise that some of you might not actually know what this stuff is or the marvelous things it can do!

And how can you begin to be interested in something you know very little about?

Ok, here goes. There are many Powertex products but if you're new to this medium then my starting point for workshops would be with Powertex Universal Medium. This comes in a range of colours but Bronze, Black and Ivory are popular to begin with.

If you  would like to see some of the things you could create yourself,  click the  button below.  More are being added as they are created.

What can you use it for?

It's a fabric and textile hardener, a glue, air dry clay (when mixed), a spreadable 'crackle' finish (when mixed), and can be used on almost anything.  It is so versatile and an absolute must in your 'craft stash' if you do a lot of mixed media art.

Below are just a few samples made with fabric, clay, stone art and mixed media.  But the possibilities are endless.

And there's more...

As if that wasn't enough, Powertex is also:

  • Water based

  • Non toxic

  • Weatherproof after 3-weeks curing time.

  • Hardens cloth, fabric, textiles, paper, cardboard and leather to name a few.

  • Has AP Certification (you can read a bit more about this by clicking the image)

Are the creative juices flowing yet?

I do hope so because I love this product and my in person workshops have started again so it would be fantastic to see you  at one.  Check out the Workshops  page and if there is something you would  really like to create but it's not listed, get in touch, I can help you bring your idea to life!

If you have any questions or would like to know even more about this fab medium, drop me a comment and I'll be very happy to help.

Vanessa 😊 x
