Canal Art - Roses
Canal Art - Roses
Unleash your creativity with my painting class
Description
I can’t wait to introduce you to this bright, bold style of painting that was developed in the 19th century by the close community of canal folk who worked on the busy rivers and canals. I will show you step-by-step how to create these beautiful flowers from the Roses & Castles style on a project piece, which is yours to take away. All materials, supplies and refreshments are included. Canal Art has recently been added to the Heritage Crafts ‘endangered list’. Below is a snippet from their website with a short explanation of the list. Crafts classified as ‘endangered’ are those which currently have sufficient craftspeople to transmit the craft skills to the next generation, but for which there are serious concerns about their ongoing viability. Traditionally enamel paints are used for canal art, but as these require white spirits for cleaning, I will be using acrylic paints for the purpose of teaching you the techniques and brush strokes used to create the roses. Further all day classes will be scheduled at my home studio later this year to teach this design using enamel paints.

This must be taken within 6 months of the original booking date. As much notice as possible would be appreciated if you cannot attend.
